Deutsche Oper Berlin is one of Germany's leading opera houses and the largest opera venue in Berlin. The present building, designed by architect Fritz Bornemann and opened in 1961, is distinguished by clean modernist lines and a functional design centred on the stage. Its main auditorium has 1,859 seats, with a layout designed to provide clear views of the stage from throughout the hall.
