Al Larson Prairie Center For the Arts, officially renamed the Al Larson Cultural Center in June 2026, is an intimate performing arts venue in Schaumburg. Its main Maggie Atcher Theatre has 425 fixed seats and a compact layout in which even the furthest seats are only 14 rows from the stage. Operating since 1986, the venue hosts theatre productions, concerts, dance performances and other cultural events.
The interior is particularly valued for its strong acoustics and clear sightlines. The close relationship between the audience and the stage creates a more immediate experience than in large auditoriums, while accessible seating and assistive listening devices are also available. In addition to the main theatre, the center includes smaller spaces suitable for lectures, meetings and a variety of cultural programs.
The venue is located at 201 Schaumburg Ct, Schaumburg, United States, within the Robert O. Atcher Municipal Center campus. Ample free parking is available directly adjacent to the Schaumburg Ct area, allowing visitors to reach the entrance with only a short walk from their vehicle.
