RI Teatar in Polje with the play "U laži su kratke noge"

According to the published information, the author and director of the play is Bojan Lakoš, the set design and puppets are by Galja Milošević, and the music is by Srđan Badurina. Jasna Jeličić, Galja Milošević, Andrej Gregorin and Andre Šebalj take part in the performance. It is a puppet-and-live-action play intended for children, and its central theme is the relationship between imagination, making things up and truth.
The story follows a boy named Tibor, a preschooler with a rich imagination who often invents stories. According to the descriptions by Krk Events and RI Teatar's announcement, one day Tibor finds himself surrounded by a world of his own fabrications, in which unusual creatures and scenes created from his stories appear. The theatrical plot uses humour, puppets and fantastical elements to bring children a simple message about the consequences of lying, but without heavy-handed moralising. The play premiered during RI Teatar's 8th Summer Festival of Laughter in Rijeka, where in June 2026 it was announced for preschool and school-age audiences. Kanal Ri reported at the time that one of the earlier performances had sold out, showing that the title had already attracted the interest of family audiences before its guest performance on Krk.
For families staying in the Dobrinj area, the evening performance in Polje represents one of the last children's theatre programmes in August. Since the performance has been announced in an outdoor space next to the community centre, it makes sense to check for any changes related to weather conditions before arriving. For the July edition of the same quiz, Krk Events listed precisely those organisers, an entry fee of 10 euros per team, teams of two to five players, and a programme consisting of recognising hits, music questions, singing and other entertaining challenges. The final August edition continues that concept, but with a new date and a starting time of 8 p.m. The organisers invite participants to assemble a team, come up with a team name and register before the available capacity is filled.
According to the announcement for 28 August, registrations are accepted until 25 August at 11 p.m. or until all places are filled. The registration deadline expires on 25 August 2026 at 11 p.m., so interested teams should not delay their registration. The entry fee is 10 euros per team. The prize fund is linked to the total amount of entry fees collected: the first-place team receives 70 percent of the total amount, while the second-place team receives 30 percent. A bottle of Maraska Pelinkovac has been announced for third place, while tickets for Kino Krk are listed as additional prizes. Klimno hosts the final of the 31st Dobrinjština Cup in balanje
Saturday, 29 August, brings a sporting event with a distinctly local identity. The final of the 31st Dobrinjština Cup in balanje will be held at the jog in Klimno from 5 p.m. The fact that this is the 31st edition is also confirmed by the latest issue of the municipal newsletter "Fanot", published in 2026, in which the Čižići Sports Recreation Society reports the participation of its two teams in the 31st Dobrinjština Cup in freestyle balanje. The same text shows how deeply balanje is rooted in local recreational life, from work with younger age groups to club and international encounters. The final in Klimno is therefore not merely another sporting event in the summer calendar, but a continuation of a competition that has been developing in Dobrinjština for decades.
The municipal newsletter "Fanot" described the Dobrinjština Cup several years ago as a freestyle balanje competition played on various jogs throughout the area, on courts that can differ in dimensions and surface. This adaptation to local courts is precisely one of the distinctive features of the competition. Historical records state that the final gathering traditionally turns into a larger sporting and social celebration, with teams, supporters and additional competitive activities. The Novi list archive also follows previous editions of the Cup and records the winners of recent seasons, further confirming the continuity of the event. The jubilee 30th edition was held in 2025, so this year's 31st edition naturally continues that sequence.
Balanje in Dobrinjština has a broader significance than the result itself. Older texts about the Cup describe it as a combination of sporting competition, socialising and preservation of the local style of play, with teams from several places in the Dobrinj area. This is an important difference compared with standardised competitive bocce: "freestyle" here is part of the local tradition, shaped by jogs and rules passed down through generations. That is precisely why the final also attracts spectators who may not follow bocce sports throughout the year. The same practical recommendations as throughout the rest of the summer apply to participants: appropriate clothing, a mat, water and adjustment of intensity to their own capabilities. In earlier announcements, the organisers particularly emphasised caution because of the heat and the fact that each participant knows the limits of their own body best. Although the programme takes place early in the morning, the end of August in the northern Adriatic can still bring very warm days. Since this is the final announced session in 2026, any changes due to weather or other circumstances should be checked through the organisers' current channels. For many participants, this session will provide a calmer end to the week after the theatre, quiz and sporting final.
